As a ministry worker, it is essential that you have a robust communication strategy. Your approach must be multi-channeled, and contact with supporters should be spread throughout the year.
A support raiser must never rely on a single marketing channel. I often see ministry workers relying on their newsletters alone. For best results, support raisers should communicate with donors via all communication channels that are available to them.
Consider the following statement I found on www.sas.com:
“Multichannel marketing is important for the simple reason that you must be where your customers are. And they are everywhere. If you need another reason, consider this: Multichannel customers spend three to four times more than single-channel customers do.”
Remember, a supporter of a ministry is like a customer to a business. If you want to find and keep customers, you have to market to them properly. Likewise, if you want to find and keep donors, you must communicate with them properly. Principles of business and ministry are interchangeable, in this regard.
Ministry workers should connect with their supporters 8-12 times per year. I have created a PDF document to show you how. Fill out the form below and click the button to receive a free PDF in your email inbox.
